Kelly Clarkson has shared an update with fans after releasing new music.

The 43-year-old hit singer took to Instagram to share her new single Where Have You Been, leaving fans thrilled. The song played exclusively on her SiriusXM channel, The Kelly Clarkson Connection, on car radios and the SiriusXM app and web player on Thursday, May 1, a full day before its global release.

Fans flooded the comment section, as one person said, “This new song is so beautiful, so many emotions and feelings, love it.” Meanwhile, another wrote, “It’s so beautiful! Very good, very different for you.” However some fans were left frustrated after discovering it wasn’t available in their region. One person shared, “Damn, it’s not available in Australia.” Another person complained, “why is siriusxm not available in my country. i can’t wait for fridaaaaay!” A third said, “damn iiiit, I don’t have access to the channel.”
While discussing the new single, Kelly revealed that she wrote the song while watching Only Murders in the Building. She said, “I wrote this song. This is, I’ve rarely done something like this, but I was watching Only Murders in the Building.”

Kelly continued, “It’s Martin Short’s face. He says to Meryl Streep’s character in the show, ‘Where have you been?’ He’s like, he’s in awe and I was like, ‘Has there been a, has anyone written a song?’ ’cause the song is happy, ’cause it’s like you found something that you thought was almost basically a unicorn and did not exist.”
Kelly continues to receive praise from fans, not just for her music. After appearing makeup-free on her Instagram, fans quickly took to the comments to applaud her natural look.

One person wrote, “Can I just say…I love how she is never afraid to be seen without makeup.” Another fan added, “I love she’s just so down to earth straight up human. She’s natural no makeup.”

Clarkson has long been open about her thoughts on aging and cosmetic procedures, revealing she isn’t afraid to show off her natural look on TV. Speaking to Womand & Home in 2021, she shared, “I hope I’m still having my talk show and I hope people see this is what it looks like, this is how you look when you get older; it’s fine.”
She also addressed her choice to skip plastic surgery and injectables, not out of judgment, but out of fear, sharing, “I’m gonna look like a total Shar-Pei, like a dog. I’m gonna have every wrinkle in the world on my face.”
She added, “It has nothing to do with me being better than somebody that gets (work done on) their face. I’m afraid of stuff called botulinum toxin.”
