Fox News personality Kat Timpf has opened up about her shocking breast cancer diagnosis and how she was delivered the news just hours before giving birth.
This week Katherine Clare Timpf, a regular panelist of Fox News Channel’s Gutfeld!, shared an “unconventional” birth announcement on Instagram. The 36-year-old libertarian columnist delivered both good and bad news as she shared a lengthy statement about becoming a first-time mom as she navigates unforeseen health issues.
In the post, Kat wrote to her 582K followers: “Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now, before you worry, my doctor says it’s Stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn’t spread. Or, as I’ve explained to the few people I’ve managed to tell about it so far: Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer.”
She continued: “Still, it was not a chill day. I mean, to say the least! I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the middle of the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out. I sat and listened as they told me that the best course of action would likely be a double mastectomy as soon as possible.”

Kat then went on to share that she later went into “spontaneous” labor on the floor of her apartment where she welcomed her son. The comedian then said the hospital staff made an “excellent” audience for her dark jokes, given her difficult circumstances. She joked: “”Should I go with ‘Mom and baby are doing well, except maybe for mom’s cancer, and then maybe the baby after breastfeeding is stunted by her double mastectomy,’ and then shut off my phone for a week?”
Kat wrapped up the post by thanking her followers for their “support, laughter, and love” as she embraces “this wildly unexpected chapter.” Following the shocking announcement, Kat was flooded with well wishes and stories of women that have undergone similar struggles.

While third supporter kindly wrote: “Wow. I’m f—–g crying, but smiling at the same time. I love you Kat Timpf. May god bless you and your baby boy. I will be thinking of you and everything you’re going through. The struggles of life are real. We are here for you, girl. Your humor is so similar to mine, I laugh out loud at everything you say because it’s exactly what I would say. Godspeed young lady. You are loved!!”
