Dallas Cowboys in major boost to make Bill Belichick head coach after it emerges he has not signed UNC contract
The Cowboys have reportedly set their eyes on other candidates, however
A STUNNING twist could open the door for Bill Belichick to become a head coaching option for the Dallas Cowboys.
The 72-year-old icon Belichick is the current head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, but an interesting development concerning his contract has been revealed.

With the Cowboys head coach search underway, a surprise bit of information about Belichick and UNC has been uncovered.
CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reported that Belichick hasn’t technically signed the five-year, $50 million contract with North Carolina.
The six-time Super Bowl champion head coach only signed a term sheet proposal in December.
The report comes after Belichick said during his introductory press conference, “I didn’t come here to leave” when asked about fears people may have of him leaving for the NFL.
Belichick has a $10 million buyout if he was to leave the program before June 1.
But if his deal isn’t officially signed, the report shared that a buyout might not be so enforceable.
“Industry sources say that could lead to a legal gray area about how much, if any, of a buyout there would be if Belichick left for the pros,” Jones wrote.
Jerry Jones‘ Cowboys were reportedly interested in Belichick before he entered the collegiate level, and the interest would’ve been mutual.
And if the buyout doesn’t come into play, the Cowboys can pursue Belichick.
Both of those instances would only occur if Belichick wanted to skedaddle out of UNC, of course.

And CBS did point out that sources told the outlet that “it is typical at the collegiate level for coaches to begin working without a fully executed contract.”
The Cowboys, who parted ways with former head coach Mike McCarthy this week, are reportedly considering interview candidates and ex-head coaches Robert Saleh and Leslie Frazier.
The team has also requested to interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for the head coaching role, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The report added that Moore will interview with the Cowboys virtually on Friday before the Eagles’ Divisional Round playoff game versus the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Moore was an NFL quarterback and played with the Cowboys for three seasons.
And, after his playing career, Moore was also the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator for five seasons.
Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is also a candidate for the position.
He spoke with Jones on the phone about the position.
“To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing,” Sanders told ESPN’s Adam Schefter about his reaction to the conversation.
“I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing.”
