Jake Paul’s bout against Gervonta Davis has been branded a ‘fake fight’ in a stinging assessment following the announcement.
Paul, who beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his last outing, announced Davis as his next opponent after talks with Anthony Joshua collapsed.
His camp were in talks over a super-fight against Joshua until a big issue prevented it from happening.

Most Valuable Promotions quickly turned their attentions to Davis, who is the current WBA world lightweight champion.
‘Tank’ hasn’t fought since his controversial draw against Lamont Roach Jr. last May, having taken a knee during the bout only for the referee to not rule it a knockdown.
A rematch had been discussed until he opted to pursue a fight against ‘The Problem Child’.
Paul vs. Davis will be an exhibition that will air on Netflix and is set to take place on November 14 in Atlanta.

Fans and critics alike criticised the match-up that pits a cruiserweight against a lightweight.
Daley Perales, who fought as an amateur and a professional before going into coaching, made his feelings clear on Paul vs. Davis as he laid out exactly how it will unfold if it’s not a ‘fake fight’.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer has received plenty of backlash for his boxing career and has been accused of being involved in scripted fights.
But there is no evidence to suggest any of his fights have been a work, with Piers Morgan issuing an apology after claiming his matches are ‘staged’.
As long as it is a real contest, Perales is convinced Davis will be too much for Paul.

But if Davis ‘does nothing’ in the ring against Paul, then he believes that is reason to believe it’s ‘fake fight’.
Reacting to the announcement of Paul vs. Davis, Perales claimed: “If it’s not a fake fight. This is what will happen. Tank will use all his experience to force Jake into throwing shots that will bounce off Gervonta’s gloves by using the high guard, also making him miss with head movement.
“Once Jake starts to get tired that’s when out of nowhere Gervonta will land bombs. He does this to high level fighters so with Jake it will be easy. Size doesn’t mean sh*t in this case.”
He added: “If Gervonta does nothing for the whole fight and throws here and there with no solid power then we know it’s fake.”
