Meghan Markle has taken to Instagram this week with a new photograph of herself in her Montecito garden. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, uploaded the photograph on Wednesday, with her post coinciding with the first day of US President Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK.

In the picture uploaded to her brand As Ever’s Instagram account, Meghan can be seen wearing a long button-up blue summer dress, with a wide-brimmed hat shielding her face from view. The Duchess is tending to a garden pot in the photograph, with her and Prince Harry’s large Montecito home spotted in the background. She captioned the post: “Seasons shift, but the garden stays magic.”

The post, which was shared online as the Royal Family conducted engagements with Donald Trump, has got royal fans talking, with many believing the timing of the post was intentional to clash with the UK state visit.

One person wrote on X: “She just couldn’t help herself. She had to post something, anything today.”

Another said: “Can we put the focus on the royals please.”

Someone else commented: “Nothing will overshadow William and Catherine tonight!”

A fourth person wrote: “Who cares!! Everybody is watching the news at Windsor.”

While some people believe Meghan’s post was intentionally uploaded to clash with the state visit, others have defended the Duchess, who frequently uploads on her brand’s Instagram account even when no royal events across the pond are happening.

Just two days ago, Meghan shared another photograph on @asever, writing “extraordinary starts with you”.

Last week, the duchess also shared a photograph of herself wearing a wide-brimmed hat and surrounded by plants in her garden. This photograph was captioned: “Harvest hues, golden views, and a season that feels like magic.”

Meghan and her husband Prince Harry, who quit royal life in 2020, have not publicly commented on the state visit going on in the UK this week.
