King Charles urged to ‘give Prince Harry last chance’ after duke ‘reached out’ in interview

Tensions between King Charles and Prince Harry have reportedly reached a new low following the Duke of Sussex’s emotional BBC interview earlier this month, where he expressed a desire to reconcile with his estranged family.
But as the alleged royal rift deepens, royal author Robert Jobson has called on the monarch, 76, to consider one final attempt at rebuilding the fractured father-son relationship.

King Charles should give Prince Harry ‘last chance to build bridges’
As reported by HELLO!, Robert warned that the ongoing drama threatens to overshadow Charles’ reign.
“If you read between the lines, Harry was clearly reaching out to his father,” Robert said.
“The only way this is going to be resolved and to stop this becoming the focus of the king’s reign is for Charles to take a shot in the dark and give Harry a last chance to build bridges.”
According to another royal source, Harry’s approach to conflict is not only exhausting for the institution. It’s also taking a toll on him.
If you read between the lines, Harry was clearly reaching out to his father.
“It’s taken its toll,” they claimed. “He sees things everywhere. He picks battles with everybody and that’s tiring. You can’t live in permanent battle mode. You’re a 40-year-old man. You’ve got to stop fighting the world.”
While palace aides reportedly remain cautious, Robert believes King Charles could still take the high road.
“The king is someone who understands forgiveness and has made mistakes himself,” Robert said. “If anyone can be the bigger man in this situation, it would be him.”
Robert added that reconciliation may have been within reach until Harry went public again.

What is happening with Prince Harry?
In the BBC interview, Prince Harry spoke candidly about his fractured relationships with both his father and his brother, Prince William.
He also claimed that King Charles is no longer speaking to him, largely due to Harry’s recent security dispute with the UK government.
“I would love reconciliation with my family,” Harry said. “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”
Despite the strained ties, Harry made it clear that the ball is now in his family’s court.
“If they don’t want that [reconciliation], that’s entirely up to them,” the duke said.
Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to the United States with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry has repeatedly called for accountability and change within the royal family.
Although Harry and Meghan appear to be thriving publicly, most recently attending Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter concert in Los Angeles, where they were photographed smiling and kissing, sources say the wounds in his relationship with the royal family remain as raw as ever.
A royal insider recently told Us Weekly: “William doesn’t talk about Harry anymore. Everyone knows it’s a subject that they shouldn’t bring up.”
