Wynne Evans may have to face the ‘consequences’ of landing in Strictly Come Dancing’s latest dance-off.
The opera singer found himself in the dreaded bottom two for the first time alongside his professional dance partner Katya Jones this past weekend.
And now, he is favourite to leave as Lee Astley, spokesperson for Bet Ideas, said: “Wynne Evans was fortunate to survive yesterday’s dance-off against Shayne Ward and we make the Welsh tenor the firm favourite to leave Strictly this weekend.
“Evans has been flirting with danger for a couple of weeks now and is odds-on at 4/7 to be eliminated on Sunday – comfortably ahead of Pete Wicks (4/1) in the betting.”
Wynne and Katya managed to make it to week eight of the BBC One dance competition, and on Saturday night (November 9), they took to the dance floor where Wynne received praise for improving his footwork during his performance of an American smooth to Grace Kelly by Mika.
They were awarded 32 points and even received a surprise video message from singer Mika, who wished them well. However, Wynne and Katya then had to battle for their spot in week nine of Strictly’s 20th-anniversary series, which coincidentally is also the annual Blackpool special.

They faced off against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu, with both pairs having to repeat their performances from the live show, including Shayne and Nancy’s rumba to Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper.
After both couples had performed for a second time, the judges gave their verdicts: Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi chose to save Shayne and Nancy, while Anton Du Beke opted to save Wynne and Katya. With two votes for Shayne and Nancy, the final decision fell to head judge Shirley, who chose to save Wynne and Katya.
Speaking for Betfair Slots, Darren noted: “Prior to the result, it was a very tense moment for both couples. Shayne and Nancy were standing close together and used tactile behaviour to comfort and reassure each other as they were waiting to hear. Although they were told they would be leaving the show, they both demonstrated how close they had become over the weeks of working together and building their relationship.”
