Celebrity Big Brother thrown into chaos as Goldie Hawn ‘pulls out of £1m deal’
Celebrity Big Brother is due to launch in just a matter of days but one mega famous actress who was reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ to appear on the show has pulled out
A huge Hollywood actress is believed to have pulled out of appearing on Celebrity Big Brother – despite being in “advanced talks” with bosses. The show is set to launch in just a matter of days and while no official line-up has yet been shared, it’s reported that former Love Island stars, a WAG and an Olympian will enter the famous house.
But bosses were hoping that one star would be a huge signing and would hopefully spill the beans about everything in Hollywood given the drama surrounding the movie industry in recent years. But now, Oscar nominee, Goldie Hawn, has reportedly pulled out of her talks with bosses at the final stages.
Reports claim that 79-year-old felt the timing wasn’t right for her to enter the house. It’s claimed that Coronation Street star, Jack P Shepherd, Daley Thompson and singer Chesney Hawkes are amongst the names set to be revealed by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best next Monday.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Goldie would have been a massive coup for Celebrity Big Brother. She is a Hollywood legend so would have had plenty of tales to spill on the rich and famous. Bosses were hoping to replicate the success of Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, who were a hit on last year’s series thanks to their lack of filter and celebrity gossip.”
The source adds that Goldie, who was nominated for an Oscar for her her 1970 movie Cactus Flower and 1981 movie Private Benjamin was “flattered” by the offer from the show. Goldie shocked fans earlier this year when she presented an award alongside Andrew Garfield at the Oscars, telling the crowd she was “blind,” before revealing she had cataracts.

But Goldie isn’t the only name to have pulled out in the days leading up to the grand launch next week. Macy Grey, who shocked fans with her diva demands on The Masked Singer is also said to have pulled out of the programme. “Macy’s fury at being voted out as Toad In The Hole earlier this year was such a talking point and bosses thought she would also make a great housemate,” a source said.
They added to The Sun that she had appeared “keen to rewrite her narrative” but later decided not to go ahead with the show. ITV, however, have remained very tight lipped about the line-up for the programme and has told the Mirror: “Any names suggested for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation.”

But fans can expect some levels of drama from the show, with EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer having reportedly signed on the dotted line as he exit from the BBC One soap opera looms. A source told the Daily Mail last week: “Patsy Palmer is set to join Celebrity Big Brother when the new series begins next month… [She] is in final talks with show bosses to enter the famous abode.”
Elsewhere, former Tory MP, Sir Michael Fabricant has also signed on the dotted line and could provide some explosive scenes for the show. A source claimed that Fabricant would be “compulsive viewing”. ITV are believed to have wanted a “top politician” with an “enormous politician” who would entertain viewers.
They added that while he is easily recognisable, he is “likely to say the wrong thing” and start debates in the famous house.
