Controversy as Jake Paul’s Dad Hits out at Gervonta Davis with Disability Slur
The YouTuber-turned-boxer’s dad spoke out against his son’s rival.
There has been controversy in the boxing world after Jake Paul’s dad hit out at Gervonta Davis with a disability slur.
Greg Paul, father of the YouTuber-turned-boxer, launched into an expletive rant against Davis and his team, sparking backlash just weeks before the bout.
Jake Paul is scheduled to fight Davis (Tank) on November 13 in a highly-anticipated exhibition bout that will be streamed globally on Netflix. The bout comes after Paul’s unanimous decision victory over the legendary Mike Tyson, which drew a huge audience.

However, Davis will present a different challenge as the reigning WBA lightweight champion. The 30-year-old will need to step up 60 pounds for the clash in Miami, after it was confirmed that the bout would have a 195-lb limit.
Despite the huge jump, bookmakers still have Davis as the favourite heading into the fight.

With excitement building across the boxing world, Paul’s father has weighed in by releasing a heated video online in which he called Davis a ‘re***d’.
He started the clip by holding a sign reading: “Sorry to the boxing world! Thank you Jake!”
He then proceeded to rant about Davis and his team. Paul added: “Oh my god, did you guys watch that press conference with Jake and Tank.
“Tank and his team must all be completely braindead and if he were to face a boxing it would f*****g end.
“Everybody in the boxing world should be thanking Jake, he’s putting asses in seats, he’s blown up women’s boxing like it’s never been done before.
“And Tank, trying to have a conversation with him – it’s worse than talking to a third grader.
“And then his team didn’t even know what the f**k they’re talking about, they’re like ‘we want to do eight or ten ounces gloves in barbed wire.”

The rant escalated further when Paul caused a controversial disability slur which has returned in some circles this year.
The word was referenced earlier this year in an episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience, when Rogan declared its comeback as a ‘great cultural victory.’
Paul went on to use the word repeatedly while he mocked Davis and his team.
He added: “Jake’s like, that was your guy’s team and his manager, whoever the f**k that r****d was, was like ‘wow I didn’t know about it.’
“Well what the f**k do you guys do?
“Just the boxing community should be thanking the fact that there’s someone with some brains representing the future of boxing.
“Thank you Jake, Tank you’re a f*****g r****d.”
