The One Show guest Danny Dyer cautioned viewers who aren’t a fan of his acting “don’t go anywhere near” his new film, One Last Deal.

The EastEnders and Rivals icon was joined by presenter Fearne Cotton on the BBC show’s sofas today (Wednesday, 11th March) to talk to Clara Amfo and Vernon Kay about his latest project.

Danny’s new film sees him portray football manager Jimmy Banks in an exhilarating race to secure one final payday for one of his biggest clients.

Previewing the film, he told Clara and Vernon: “Jimmy hasn’t got many morals about him. [He’s] driven by the dollar and been a really bad husband, a bad father.”

He then joked, “Sounds a bit like me, to be honest with you”, before summing up the film’s gripping premise.

The soap legend went on to reveal a surprising aspect of the film. “I’m the only one in it,” he said. “So I’m here to promote it.

“It’s me in a room on the phone for an hour and a half. I’m gonna be honest, if you’re into me then you’ll love it, if you’re not into me do not go anywhere near this film. Because it will wind you up.”

Clara then assured the actor: “People are into you, Danny! You’re alright.”

Danny went on to admit the challenging one-man performance was a “test” that made him “go crazy”, and likened One Last Deal’s twists and turns to an episode of The Twilight Zone.

“We’ve only scratched the surface, honestly. I’m so excited for people to see it.

“And, of course, in memory of Jilly Cooper who we lost, and we’ve done her justice, don’t you worry yourself about that.”

Fans still have a little while longer to wait before Rivals hits screens on 15th May, but you can witness Danny’s latest role in cinemas in just a couple of days.
