Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid’s Official Plans For His Future After Super Bowl 59 Have Been Revealed As Retirement Rumors Swirl

Retirement speculation has buzzed around Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid for several years now, but team owner Clark Hunt gave a clear-cut answer about his plans for 2025.
Reid, who turns 67 in March, has the Chiefs one win away from completing the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat. His status in the Hall of Fame was assured long ago, and he has nothing more to prove after already securing three championship rings in a five-year span.
But could Super Bowl 59 mark the final game of Andy Reid’s illustrious coaching career, regardless of the outcome against the Philadelphia Eagles? Per Nate Taylor of The Athletic, Hunt provided that answer while speaking to reporters on Monday.
“I know for a fact he’ll be back next season,” Hunt said.
Last year, Andy Reid signed a five-year contract extension with Kansas City worth a reported $100 million. The three-time Super Bowl-winning head coach surely wouldn’t have signed a long-term deal if he was planning to walk away after the 2024 season.
And if Reid was serious about potentially retiring after the 2024 season, one has to think the organization would have worked extensively to line up his successor. So don’t worry, Chiefs fans, you have the Reid-Patrick Mahomes connection back for 2025 no matter what happens on Sunday.
But first thing’s first: The Chiefs have a Super Bowl title to defend in New Orleans.
