Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Xavier Worthy suffered a shoulder injury on the opening drive after accidentally colliding with teammate Travis Kelce and is questionable to return.

On just the third play from scrimmage in the Chiefs’ season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce collided in the middle of the field on a crosser route.
Worthy took the worst of the hit and was immediately taken to the locker room:
Moments later, the Chiefs announced on X/Twitter that Worthy is questionable to return with a shoulder injury. Worthy was visibly emotional after going to the sidelines with a towel over his head.

The Chiefs are already short-handed at wide receiver, with Rashee Rice serving a six-game suspension and rookie Jalen Royals sidelined because of a knee injury. The defending AFC champions can only hope that Xavier Worthy’s injury isn’t long-term.
In his rookie season, the speedy wideout from Texas caught 59 passes for 638 yards and six touchdowns to go along with 20 rushes for 104 yards and three rushing scores
