Stacey Solomon made a heartbreaking admission about when she first met her partner Joe Swash on the first episode of the couple’s BBC series, Stacey & Joe
Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash were back on BBC One tonight with their second series of fly on the wall show, Stacey & Joe. The second series saw Joe celebrate his 43rd birthday, but he emotionally revealed why he didn’t think he’d make it.
The episode started off on a high, as Stacey whisked her husband off for an over night camping trip to celebrate his big day. The pair enjoyed some couple time away from the kids, although of course, the trip didn’t come without a harmless couples tiff.
Upon their return, the former X Factor star went to visit her physiologist Ollie, and brought Joe along for the ride.

Joe began to tell Ollie about his problems with sleeping through the night, as Stacey explained how Joe had to take naps through the day – which led to another harmless row.
“I don’t have time to nap in the daytime,” Joe exclaimed. “I find it quite offensive that it’s said that I’m napping,” he continued, as Stacey denied she was being offensive.
“We need you to be healthy and happy and at your best,” she said.
Speaking to the camera, Joe reflected: “I should be making the effort,” as Stacey went on to make a heartbreaking admission.
“When you met me, you used to say to me, ‘I haven’t got long because my dad was 39. So when I’m 39, I’m going to pass away,'” she recalled her husband saying to her.
“When we were together for a few years, I was like, ‘I would love to have a bigger family and try for a baby.’ And you wouldn’t try for a baby with me. You were like, ‘I need to get to 39.'”
Joe then confirmed that his goal was ultimately to be healthier so he can continue to spend quality time with their children.
Ricky Swash passed away when Joe was just 12-years-old. Despite being fit and healthy, the 39-year-old dad had been living with an undiagnosed heart condition Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.
Joe has previously opened up about the devastating time in his life, as he recalled hearing his mum’s desperate screams for help one Saturday morning as he raced into his parents’ bedroom to find out what was wrong.

His father was unconscious but still breathing and despite being in a state of panic, Joe managed to call 999 for an ambulance. However, just two hours later, Joe and his mother were given the tragic news that Ricky had passed away.

Speaking about the harrowing day a few years ago, the former EastEnders star said: “I ran outside and screamed for a neighbour to help, then I was whisked away. It was so traumatic because he seemed really healthy. He was slim and ran three times a week. He’d done a half marathon.”
“Looking back there was a little warning sign when he blacked out as he was bending down to put his socks on but nothing to suggest he was going to have a heart attack.”
