Lorraine Kelly has made a huge career move after opening up on the ‘difficult’ changes at ITV

Lorraine Kelly has announced that she is releasing a three-part show on Channel 4, after emotionally opening up about the cuts at ITV. In Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, the 65-year-old broadcaster will voyage the fjords to discover the stunning landscapes, wildlife, food and culture of the Scandinavian country.
Lorraine will explore how the Viking era has left its imprint on the way of life and landscape of Norway, and the parallels observed in her home nation of Scotland to this day when it was once sieged under Norse rule. She will meet people along her travels that are keeping the rich history of Norway alive through folk traditions and Nordic tales, and immerse herself in the crafts and culinary delicacies of the region. The Scottish star said that partaking in the show has been somewhat of a “personal journey” for her as she added: “I grew up with Viking legends and stories, and Norway’s history is so entwined with Scotland’s. I’m excited to discover as much as I can about the country’s mythical past and how it impacts this wild and spectacular land.”

The surprising career move comes as Lorraine described the cuts to her self-named ITV show as “heartbreaking” as she opened up about the upcoming changes.
It was previously revealed that over 220 staff members face redundancy, with significant schedule restructuring planned across ITV. Lorraine will be cut down to just 30 weeks a year as from January 2026.
There has been speculation that the giddy presenter might step down from her role, but she has recently shared a statement confirming her future at ITV.
She said: “I don’t see me going anywhere until people get fed up, you know? Until people say, I’ve had enough of that one.”
Speaking about the cuts, which will see her show slashed from an hour to 30 minutes and limited it to 30 weeks a year, Lorraine said her first concern was for the team affected by the changes.
The presenter admitted: “It’s really heartbreaking to split up the team, a lot of my team have been with me for more than 20 years and they’re my friends. I’ve grown up with them. They were babies when they started with me and now they’ve got babies of their own.
“It’s been difficult with the cuts, it’s been hard. I’m a lot happier about it now but it was honestly and genuinely all about the team. I wasn’t annoyed or angry about this for me… it was about the team.”
