Prince William is reportedly “hurt and angry” by what he perceives as his family’s attempts to sabotage him. Earlier this month, the Prince of Wales headed on a five-day trip to Brazil for COP30, attending the summit to speak and promote his Earthshot Prize, his flagship initiative aimed at tackling the climate crisis. While Kensington Palace were likely hoping all eyes would be on William, 43, that wasn’t the case. Because at the same time back in the UK, King Charles was awarding David Beckham a knighthood for his services to football and charity.
The decision to hold Sir David’s knighthood at the same time he was meant to be receiving glowing press coverage allegedly left William seething. Speaking to The Royalist, a source said: “Of all weeks. This was the one week he needed the family to be pulling for him. Instead, it felt like they were pulling against him. He was left hurt and angry.”

They added: “The family sabotaged it from beginning to end. It was pathetic, like the worst of the bad old days.”
It wasn’t only the timing of David’s knighthood that rubbed William up the wrong way, as his trip was also overshadowed by his brother’s visit to Canada for “Rememberancetide”.
Prince Harry denied deliberately trying to overshadow William, releasing a statement claiming that the royal household was informed in advance “as a courtesy”.
But according to The Times, neither Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace received this notice, making people question whether the message was actually sent.

A source described it as “a bit rum” that either palace had been informed ahead of the announcement, noting that it was the first they had heard of it. The Duce of Sussex’s office gave no reply when asked about the time they had informed the palaces.
While in Toronto, Harry met soldiers from the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, troops from the Royal Regiment of Canada, and veterans at Sunnybrook Hospital.
Meanwhile, William was welcomed to Sugarloaf Mountain and visited one of football’s most famous arenas, the Maracanã Stadium.
He wrapped up his first day in Rio de Janeiro on the world-famous Copacabana Beach.
