The Houston Texans lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 23-14, and the head coach thought the team had to play against more than just the players.
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans likely saved himself from being fined when he suggested the officiating tilted in the Chiefs’ direction.
“We knew going into this game, man, it was us versus everybody,” Ryans said.
“When I say everybody, I mean everybody. The naysayers, the doubt. Everybody we had to go against again today. Going into this game, knowing what we were up against, we can’t make the mistakes we made. We had a lot of self-inflicted mistakes.”
A pair of penalties called for hits against Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes most certainly changed the outcome of the game. A roughing the passer penalty on Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson and a late hit on linebacker Henry To’oTo’o helped lead to 10 Chiefs points.
Those ten points made all the difference in the outcome.

The Houston Texans have Some Needs To Address
It would seem that the Houston Texans hit a couple of home runs in 2023 when they hired head coach DeMeco Ryans and drafted quarterback C.J. Stroud, but they still need to add more.
A dominant defense then led the Texans to a decisive wild-card win over the Los Angeles Chargers before they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.
The future with the Houston Texans remains bright, but the team must get an offensive line to protect Stroud.
