Stacey Solomon on ‘debilitating’ health battle that ‘took over her life’
‘My brain goes to the most intrusive thoughts’
Stacey Solomon previously spoke out about her battle with health anxiety, revealing that it can lead to “out of control” intrusive thoughts.
The TV star has become a firm favourite over the years thanks to stints on shows including Loose Women and Sort Your Life Out – which repeats today (February 15).
However, behind closed doors, Stacey has been open about the fact she has battled with health anxiety.

Stacey Solomon on anxiety that ‘took over her life’
In a past interview, Stacey recalled how her “crippling” battle with health anxiety left her worrying for up to six hours a day.
“The debilitating condition meant I spent so much of my time worrying about dying and obsessively checking my health that it took over my life,” she told The Sun in 2018.
“At my worst, I was so fearful of death I’d think about it for six hours a day.”

Stacey is able to ‘see her triggers’
According to Stacey, her worries began at a young age – but noted that she had “no traumatic childhood experiences”.
Surrounded by “fear”, the singer revealed she “decided to take action” and booked onto a course of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in London.
“Now I recognise a pattern, and have been able to see my triggers,” Stacey said, revealing how she found ways to manage her anxiety.

Meanwhile, in 2021, Stacey opened up more about her health anxiety and admitted that it leads to “out of control” intrusive thoughts.
“My ‘out of control’ manifests in fear. I have this really weird fear of death. So the minute I feel out of control I just think I’m going to die. I know that sounds ridiculous, it’s so weird,” she said on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Hour podcast.
Stacey continued: “When things are going wrong I just immediately, my brain goes to the most intrusive thoughts that it possibly could. I just think, oh my gosh, this could happen to me tomorrow and then I could not wake up.”
