It’s hard to believe that Aaron Hernandez has been deceased for over 8 years now. It feels like the country was just shocked over him taking his own life recently.
At the time of his death, Hernandez had one daughter, Avielle Janelle Hernandez, with his former fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez. She was born in 2012.
There were many pictures of the former NFL tight end holding his daughter when she was an infant.
Fast forward to 2025, and the infant child is not that small anymore. In fact, she should be a teenager now.
“Heartwarming: The Late NFL star Aaron Hernandez’s daughter wearing his No. 81 Patriots jersey,” an X account said while posting a picture of her side-by-side with Hernandez.
“A man is a multitude. He was a great football player. He was probably a loving father. According to the Pounceys, he may have been a decent friend. Yet, he was also troubled and a convicted killer. Let the girl remember her father the way she wants and we all should all STFU,” one fan said.

“I know A Hernandez is a pos for all he did. But I feel bad for that lil girl. She lost her Dad forever. I’m glad she wears his jersey and doesn’t want to throw away all her memories because ofdumbass decisions he made. He could have still been a great father to her. She misses em,” a second person wrote.
“The girl needs to be told who her father was…a cold blooded killer. This photo is heartbreaking,” a third person stated.
“This isn’t funny. This is heartbreaking,” a fourth person added.

From 2007 to 2013, Hernandez had been either a suspect or a defendant in six shootings in which three people were killed.
His life went from rags to riches to arrested. In 2012, he signed a $39.5 million five-year contract extension with the Patriots. By the summer of 2013, he would be arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd, a crime for which he was later convicted.
He was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2015 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He would then get charged with a double murder, a charge he would beat. Unfortunately, he would soon take his own life in prison.
Two years after his death, Hernandez was linked to a fourth murder, Investigative journalist Dylan Howard revealed in a book, Aaron Hernandez’s Killing Fields.
That book claims the former New England Patriots player had reportedly bragged about a fourth body to his prison lover and cellmate, Kyle Kennedy.
Kennedy also went viral when details of his prison letter were released, which alleges that he was in a relationship with the former tight end.
After Aaron Hernandez took his life, his family donated his brain to Boston University’s Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center.
The researchers stated that Hernandez’s condition was the most severe case for a 27-year-old.
