Strictly Come Dancing has revealed that four former finalists will be making a comeback during the much-anticipated Blackpool Week.

Ashley Roberts, Danny Mac, Jay McGuiness and Layton Williams are all set to grace the ballroom of the BBC show for one night only. They’ll be participating in a group dance as part of this year’s Blackpool specials.

The celebrities will join forces with the show’s professional dancers for the routine, which promises to “revisit one of their most famous Strictly moments”. It’s been disclosed that the new routine will incorporate elements of Jay and Ashley’s memorable Jives, Danny’s renowned Samba and Layton’s unforgettable Quickstep, reports Wales Online.

Pussycat Dolls’ Ashley, who reached the finals of the competition in 2018, expressed her excitement about returning, saying that she was “so excited and grateful to be back on the shiny floor in Blackpool again”.

“Nearly a decade later, let’s see if these jive legs can still do their thing!” she quipped.

“Sequins always help, I’m sure.”

Actor Danny, who was a finalist in 2016, described performing at The Tower Ballroom as a “highlight” of his Strictly journey, adding that the prospect of doing it again was “as thrilling as it is terrifying”.

Jay, a previous Strictly Come Dancing champion who won the Glitterball trophy 10 years ago, said he felt “extremely lucky to be part of the Strictly alumni that are going to shake our booties again”.

Meanwhile, Bad Education star Layton expressed his excitement about returning to what he said was “THE most iconic dance floor there is”.

“Blackpool brings back so many fab memories and it’s a true honour to be invited back… Let’s hope I’ve still got it, eh?!” said the star, who reached the finals of the BBC ballroom series in 2023.
