“It’s time to be true to my heart” – Josie Gibson reveals her relationship status after the storm of rumors about her relationship with Stephen Mulhern
This Morning host Josie Gibson has shared a candid update on her love life, explaining why relationships—especially romantic ones—aren’t her priority at the moment. As she approaches her 40th birthday next month, Josie says she’s been reflecting deeply on what truly matters.
Speaking to The Mirror, the 39-year-old presenter revealed that her world revolves around her six-year-old son Reggie, as well as her close personal connections. “Reg is my biggest distraction,” she said. “Your connections and relationships are so important. They’re what stay with you forever.”
Though fans recently speculated about a romance between Josie and TV presenter Stephen Mulhern—after the two were spotted holding hands backstage at Saturday Night Takeaway—Josie has confirmed she is single. “It wouldn’t be fair,” she explained. “My time is split between my career and my son. Where would anyone fit in?”
Despite the rumours, Stephen also shut down speculation during an awkward moment on This Morning, jokingly telling hosts to “shut your face” when questioned. He later clarified: “She didn’t show up to rehearsals, so I held her hand and showed her where to stand. That’s it. Finito.”
Josie later joked to MailOnline, “I’m in love with Stephen Mulhern… but I don’t think he loves me back!” However, she has since reiterated that she’s not looking for anything casual or serious, explaining: “To even kiss someone, I really have to be in love.”
In a conversation with OK! Magazine, Josie revealed that she tends to fall in love only once every seven or eight years, and that past heartbreaks have left her hesitant. “I just can’t have my heart broken again. I always meet guys who end up disappointing me.”
Josie has had a few high-profile relationships in the past, including with her Big Brother co-star John James Parton, ex-fiancé Luke Sanwo, and Reggie’s father, Terry. She currently co-parents Reggie with Terry, whom she praises as a “great dad”.
Balancing her career in London and family life in Bath, Josie says she’s happy with where she is. “If I spend time away from my son on something that might not work out, I’ll regret it. This time with him is too precious.”
From winning Big Brother in 2010 to becoming one of daytime TV’s most beloved personalities, Josie has had a whirlwind journey — and for now, her focus remains firmly on her son and her own peace.
