ITV’s Saturday Morning halted as James Martin makes wedding announcement

James Martin was joined by Alysia Greenwood on his cooking show Saturday Morning

During his ITV show Saturday Morning, James Martin took a moment to make an exciting announcement.

While welcoming guest Alysia Greenwood to the programme, James interrupted the introduction with some joyful news.

“We are about to be taught some exciting facts about free food from the top Yorkshire forager, Alysia Greenwood,” he started.

But before diving into the culinary segment, James stopped and remarked: “I am not going to get the hang of this. I have been calling you Alysia Vasey for years now.

“Congratulations,” he continued. “Married…ring? “Alysia responded, “Married, better foraging name, Greenwood,” reports Lancs Live.

“Is that the reason why? ” James quipped, receiving the reply: “Sole reason.”

James chuckled and added: “Basically, first of all, congratulations, and you haven’t stopped while you’ve been at it because you’ve brought something quite interesting with us that you want to use.”

As they shifted focus to the ingredient in question, Alysia mentioned she had been in a swamp collecting the tangerine root in her wellies.

The cooking session proceeded with the root as a key ingredient, and although James was initially hesitant to try it raw, questioning if it was “poisonous,” they eventually prepared a Tangerine Creme Caramel that wowed both the audience and social media users who expressed their delight online.

Alysia explained that the root was horrible to eat alone but encouraged James and the other guests to try it.

“Do you want to have a lick?” she asked as the TV chef refused: “Not really, no. I’ve put it in here. When it is in here, it tastes really good.”
