Jessie J has emotionally shared her breast cancer battle with fans, announcing she’s been diagnosed with an early-stage tumour and will undergo surgery right after her upcoming performance at the Summertime Ball.

The 37-year-old Price Tag singer took to Instagram to post a raw and heartfelt video, revealing that she has spent the last two months “in and out of tests” and is now preparing to go under the knife.

“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” she said directly to camera. “Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early’.”

Jessie explained she wanted to speak out not only to process the diagnosis herself, but also to show solidarity with others going through similar challenges. “I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because selfishly, I don’t talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard.”

She added: “The timing has been mad but also beautiful. It’s given me perspective. But honestly… I need a hug.”

In true Jessie J fashion, she still managed to joke through the fear: “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I’ll disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery – and I’ll be back with massive tits and more music.”

Jessie, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, has endured multiple health scares in her life – from a heart condition as a child, to a minor stroke at 18, and a sudden hearing loss in 2020. In 2023, she welcomed her first son, Sky, after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2021.

In the video, she said she hoped sharing her story would encourage support, conversation, and compassion. “It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse. That’s the bit that kills me.”

Despite everything, Jessie remains determined to perform at Wembley on June 15 before stepping away temporarily for surgery. “You’ve loved me through the good and hard times – and I don’t want this to be any different,” she told fans.
