LSU hired Kiffin on Sunday as the Tigers’ 35th head football coach after he bolted from Ole Miss amid one of their most successful seasons in school history.

In the wake of his decision, the entire city of Oxford, Mississippi, has turned on Lane. Hundreds of them showed up at an airport just to boo him and give him the finger. Meanwhile, social media users decided to expose allegations of his affair with a 19-year-old assistant.

The moment he inked his LSU deal, he hopped onto Instagram and dropped a couple of tiger-themed stories. One of them even said, “Tigers for sale.”

He was essentially telling Ole Miss fans how little he cares about their anger.

Kiffin bolted from Mississippi after six seasons coaching in Oxford, where his daughter, Landry, either still attends or has already graduated from.

Late Monday night, the Ole Miss student took to social media to send a message to the angry fans in her mentions, complaining about her father’s departure from the program.

“Wish I could be as creative as angry football fans,” she said in the caption of the video that included a heart hands emoji.

Now that he has bolted for LSU, Kiffin knows the expectation at the school is to win national titles. That’s something he had the chance to do at Ole Miss, who are currently headed to the College Football Playoff.

“When you take the history, tradition, passion, and the great players in the state of Louisiana, no one can argue that when you’re in Tiger Stadium on Saturday night, there is nothing like it,” Kiffin said.

It will be interesting to see what the talk surrounding Kiffin will be like come 2028. As of now, he still has not produced a National Championship.
