Prince Harry’s popularity in America takes a hit

Prince Harry, 40, has been dealt another blow this week, thanks to a new YouGov poll.

According to the poll, which was commissioned by The Times, Prince William is the most popular living royal in the US. The Prince of Wales, 42, has a 63% positivity rating and just 10% negative.

The late Princess Diana remains the most popular royal stateside, despite having passed away almost 30 years ago now. She has a positivity rating of 79%.

Meanwhile, the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died in 2022, has a 73% positivity rating.

Harry is the most well-known royal stateside, with 77% of Americans taking part in the poll saying they were “very” or “somewhat” familiar with him.

However, the royal only has a positivity rating of 56%, with 21% holding a “fairly” or “very” negative opinion of him.

Meanwhile, Meghan was ranked the seventh most popular royal, behind the king and Kate Middleton.

Poll spells bad news for Harry and Meghan

Of the 1,300 US adults who were polled, only 42% of them approved of the Sussexes’ relocation to California. 19% had a negative reaction.

61% of those polled stated that their opinion of Harry and Meghan hadn’t changed since their US move. However, 17% admitted that their opinion of the couple had changed negatively.

At the other end of the scale is Prince Andrew, who holds just a 26% positivity rating.

Surprisingly, Queen Camilla only has a 26% positivity rating, however, this could be attributed to the fact that a larger portion didn’t know who she was compared to Andrew.

Prince Harry admits he misses UK in BBC interview

The poll results come just days after Harry admitted in an interview with the BBC that he misses the UK. The interview came after he lost his court case regarding his security in the UK.

“I can’t see a world in which I will be bringing my wife and children back to the UK. They’re going to miss everything, I love my country. I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK,” he said in the interview.

“It’s sad I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

He then said that he would “love” reconciliation with his family.

Harry added: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. But I would love reconciliation with my family.

“There’s no point in continuing to fight any more. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
