Fans call on royal couple to become working royals and boost support for monarchy

Royal fans have taken to social media this week, calling for two members of the Royal Family to become working royals. Although loved members of the family, Zara and Mike Tindall have no royal titles, which means they carry out no official work for the monarchy.

Instead, Princess Anne’s daughter, 44, and Mike, 46, have their own careers, and only step out on the royal stage for big events, with Christmas being one of them. While the royal couple seem more than happy with this arrangement, which gives them the privacy to live a more ordinary life, royal fans have taken to X to express just how much they wish Zara and Mike would become working royals.

Harry recently returned to the UK to carry out a series of charitable engagements such as his yearly appearance at the WellChild Awards. The 41-year-old travelled back to his home country on his own, with Meghan Markle and their two children remaining in California.

I worked for the Royal Family – Sarah Ferguson gave the Royal Household men harsh nickname

Under-fire Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and Diana, Princess of Wales, were relative outsiders within the Royal Family and formed a close bond in the early 1980s, according to Paul Burrell, Diana’s former butler.

They both harboured resentment towards the anonymous Palace officials who dictated their actions, even giving the functionaries a sarcastic nickname.

In his latest book, Royal Insider, Burrell reveals: “They would discuss the dour men in grey suits within the Royal Household, nicknamed ‘the enemy within’.”

During the visit, Anne talked to naval families about various matters, including boarding schools. The princess also learnt more about the charity, which supports young people from naval families up to the age of 25 through wellbeing support, grants in times of crisis, and development opportunities.

Inside Prince William’s solo trip with King Charles

Prince William and King Charles have reportedly enjoyed some time together this week at Balmoral Castle. On Tuesday, the Prince of Wales, 43, was seen arriving at Aberdeen airport after a joint engagement in Southport with his wife, Princess Kate.

It is believed he was then taken from the airport to Balmoral Castle, where his father King Charles, 76, is staying until the end of September. While William’s visit to Balmoral has not been publicly announced, it is widely reported that the first-in-line to the throne spends some time at the Scottish castle with his father every year, and has done ever since Charles became King in 2022.

Princess Anne channels Kate’s autumn style in checked blazer moment

Checks are having a moment this season, with heritage prints dominating runways and wardrobes alike. So it came as little surprise that Princess Anne embraced the look during her recent visit to the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre in Wales.

Earlier this month, the Princess Royal arrived in a sharply tailored grey checked blazer with subtle yellow piping, layered over a classic black A-line skirt. The 75-year-old royal finished her look with a pair of trusty leather boots and gloves.

Upcoming project for Sarah Ferguson ‘dead and buried’ after Epstein drama

Sarah Ferguson’s upcoming project, which would have seen her popularity in America reach new heights, is now “dead and buried”, a Hollywood dealmaker has said. The Duchess of York, 65, has faced one of her biggest PR crises this week after it was revealed she had emailed the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 after he had been released from prison for child sex offences.

In the email, Sarah referred to Epstein as her “supreme friend” and apologised for disowning him in an interview. A spokesperson for the duchess said Sarah only sent the email because she feared Epstein was going to sue her for defamation.

Princess Kate’s secret tribute to Prince William after ‘difficult’ time

Princess Kate has long had a talent for infusing her royal wardrobe with meaning – and her jewellery often carries across the most poignant message. While the Princess’s fashion choices are admired worldwide, it is her accessories that quietly speak of love, resilience, and family.

At the late Duchess of Kent’s funeral last week, the Princess of Wales offered a deeply personal tribute through the rings she wore. On her left hand, she stacked five bands on her engagement finger – each one charting a different chapter in her and Prince William’s journey together.

Shocking moment Sarah Ferguson storms out of car crash TV interview after awkward question

Sarah Ferguson has dominated royal headlines this week after she became involved in another scandal. Last weekend, it was revealed that the Duchess of York, 65, had sent emails to the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 after he had been released from prison for child sex offences.

In the emails, Sarah had apologised to Epstein for disowning him and criticising him in a previous interview, calling the convicted paedophile her “supreme friend”. A spokesperson for the duchess has since said that she had only sent the email at the time as she feared Epstein was going to sue her for defamation.

While Sarah is facing somewhat of a PR crisis as a result of this latest revelation, it is not the first time she has been involved in such a scandal.

In 2010, the duchess was caught on video offering a News of the World reporter – who posed as a businessman – access to her ex husband Prince Andrew for £500,000.

This was an embarrassment for Sarah and the Royal Family, so much so that when she was questioned about it in an interview with 60 Minutes Australia host Michael Usher in 2011, she stormed out.

Prince Harry ‘like a brother’ to Ukrainians after visits supporting Kyiv’s war wounded

A Ukrainian paramedic once held captive by Russian forces described Prince Harry as “amazing” after meeting him in the war-torn country. The Duke of Sussex has visited Ukraine twice this year, including earlier this month when he was invited by the Kyiv government and a centre that treats amputees wounded in the conflict.

Yuliia “Taira” Paievska, who was held as a prisoner of war by Russia after being captured during the siege of Mariupol in 2022, said Harry’s support for Ukraine is “invaluable”. The prince said he wanted to do “everything possible” to help the thousands of seriously wounded Ukrainian military personnel after travelling to Kyiv and Lviv with a team from his Invictus Games Foundation. Taira said the Duke is “very supportive” of Ukraine after meeting him at the Superhumans Centre, a rehabilitation clinic in Lviv, western Ukraine, in April.

Prince Harry’s reunion with King Charles brutally mocked on Spitting Image

Prince Harry was brutally mocked on the latest episode of Spitting Image, as the satirical show took aim at the Duke’s latest meeting with his father, King Charles. Spitting Image was one of the most-watched shows in Britain in the 1980s and is now back with a new series on YouTube called The Rest Is Bull****.

In its second episode, which aired on Friday night, the Duke of Sussex’s balding puppet played a key role as it hosted the episode with Paddington Bear and saw some recent events from his life under fire. In one segment, the Duke’s recent meeting with the King is discussed.

Prince Harry’s plot to rebuild his life in Britain as ‘half in, half out’ dream ruled out

Royal sources have poured cold water on Prince Harry’s desire for a ‘half-in, half-out’ royal role, following his trip to the UK to conduct charity engagements. During Harry’s trip to the UK, he met with his father, King Charles, for tea at his residence at Clarence House on September 10.

Within a week, there were rumours that “high-level” talks were underway to bring the King and the Duke of Sussex together for a “public show of unity”, but this has since been quashed. As reported in the Telegraph, royal sources have said the King had been “absolutely clear in upholding his late mother’s decision that there [could] be no ‘half-in, half-out’ public role for members of the family”.

Now, the Duchess is bracing for a fresh royal drama to drop as a new TV series focusing on the life of her former aide, who killed her partner, will be released.

Prince Harry’s children could ‘face difficulties’ in later life wanting to meet royals

If Harry does not reconcile properly with the Royal Family his children could grow up in California never knowing their royal relatives, an expert has claimed. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle currently live in Montecito, California, with their two young children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

The couple eventually settled in the US after quitting royal duties in 2020. Royal expert Hugo Vickers told the Sun’s Royal Exclusive: “If I was being brought up in California, and I suddenly discovered that my first cousin was likely to be King one day, I would like to get to know him, obviously.”

‘Sarah Ferguson is playing the victim card’, rages Prince Andrew’s biographer

Sarah Ferguson has been accused of “playing the victim card” by a royal biographer after becoming involved in a new scandal this week. The Duchess of York, 65, has hit the headlines this week after it was revealed she had sent emails to the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 apologising for disowning him and criticising him in an interview.

The emails were sent after Epstein had been in jail for child sex offences, with the duchess referring to him in the messages as her “supreme” friend. A spokesperson for Sarah, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, has since claimed that the duchess only sent the email as she feared Epstein was going to try and sue her for defamation.

‘Granny signed off on the idea’

In his controversial book the Duke of Sussex wrote: “What if life could be like that…all the time? What if we could spend at least part of each year somewhere far away, still doing work for the Queen, but beyond the reach of the press?

“Free. Free from the British press, free from the drama, free from the lies. But also free from the supposed ‘public interest’ that was used to justify the frenzied coverage of us.

“The question was…where? We talked about New Zealand. We talked about South Africa. Half the year in Cape Town maybe? That could work.

“Away from the drama, but closer to my conservation work — and to eighteen other Commonwealth countries. I’d run the idea by Granny once before. She’d even signed off on it.”

Prince Harry’s plans to flee Britain and ‘drama’ before US move revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hatched a bold plan to flee Britain’s relentless media storm, dreaming of a quieter life split between the UK and Cape Town, South Africa. Seeking a life unencumbered by royal duties while still serving the Queen, they envisioned spending half the year in Africa, far from the tabloid glare and royal drama. Queen Elizabeth II endorsed the idea, but when Harry detailed the proposal in writing to his father, now King Charles, it leaked to the press, igniting a firestorm that crushed their hopes.

New Zealand briefly entered the conversation, but Africa held a special allure—Harry’s refuge since his mother’s death and the source of the Botswana diamond in Meghan’s engagement ring. In his memoir Spare, Harry later revealed how this scuppered plan pushed them towards their eventual move to Montecito, California, with their children, Archie and Lilibet. The taste of freedom lingered, leaving a bittersweet echo of what could have been beneath Cape Town’s Table Mountain.
