Steps star Faye Tozer has reportedly moved out of the family home she shares with husband Michael Smith and their teenage son in South Tyneside weeks before Christmas.
Her husband sparked fears for their 16-year marriage after sharing a post about heartbreak on social media last year. Days before celebrating her birthday in November, Michael, 43, shared a post about heartbreak. The post read: “I met you when I was not looking for you and lost when I loved you the most.”
Not long after, he posted a snap of Banksy’s famous broken heart with a bandaid labelled “closed for repairs”.
Michael and Faye’s marriage is reportedly in trouble
When approached by MailOnline regarding their relationship, Michael cryptically said: “We’re going through some things and trying to work some stuff out. That’s all I will say.”
An insider said it was “sad” as they added to the publication: “It just seemed to happen out of the blue. They always used to be so lovely, both really nice people. It’s such shame.”
Neighbours claimed they used to “be at the local pub together all the time” and said it was “really sad” if their marriage was in trouble.
Michael said ‘they’re working through some things’
In 2018, Faye took part in the sixteenth of Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Giovanni Pernice. The duo were joint runners-up in the final.
At one point, she was spotted enjoying a cute dinner with Giovanni with him feedig her during the lunch. At the time, Michael laughed off rumours of romance.
Sharing a selfie on Instagram with pasta on his face, he wrote: “Where’s @pernicegiovann1 when you need him? Help me out @fayetozersmith.” After taking part in the show, Faye revealed her sex life was spiced up from taking part in Strictly.
“It’s really exciting now. My husband couldn’t make it to the live show on the first week but when I got home, he couldn’t wait to see me. Let’s just say that,” she said.
Faye’s first marriage was to Danish drummer Jasper Irn but their marriage came to an abrupt end after a decade together. The duo, who married in 2002 in Dunstable, were married for five years.
In 2018, he said: “She became cold and distant to me and suddenly, after almost 10 wonderful years together, everything started falling apart. One day she told me, ‘I’ve had enough. I don’t want to see you anymore’. I was shocked.’
“I was young and stupid. I think Faye wanted me to fight for her. We began living separate lives. One day she told me, “I’ve had enough. I don’t want to see you anymore”. Looking back, I should have told her, “We are married and we are staying married”. Instead, I turned and walked away. A huge mistake.”
