Katie Price shocks as she unexpectedly tops iTunes with her music comeback, beating Olivia Dean, Perrie Edwards and Dizzee Rascal
Katie Price has shocked the entertainment world after her 2017 single I Got U suddenly rocketed to number one on the iTunes dance chart and number two on the overall UK hits chart, beating out the likes of Olivia Dean, Perrie Edwards and Dizzee Rascal.
The 47-year-old star, who has long expressed her passion for singing, took to Instagram to tell fans her “dreams have come true.” She reposted messages of congratulations, writing: “Thank you to everyone, my dreams have come true. Well, for once I’m speechless!”
Her representative admitted the result was “a massive surprise” and added that Katie “has always loved singing and can’t thank the public enough for their support.”
Originally released in June 2017, I Got U had previously only reached number five, marking Katie’s second shot at a pop career after her 2006 charity duet A Whole New World with ex-husband Peter Andre. But this week, the dance track has found new life, dominating digital downloads and reviving Katie’s pop ambitions.
Back in May, Katie revealed her plans for a fresh music chapter, announcing an upcoming album and a 2026 UK tour titled Katie Price’s Big Bangers, which will feature both her original material and nostalgic covers.
Her chart triumph comes amid personal turmoil. The mum of five has been embroiled in a bitter feud with her three ex-husbands, with Peter Andre accusing her of making “baseless accusations” and insisting their children Princess and Junior have lived with him since 2018 “for their safety.” Meanwhile, Kieran Hayler and Alex Reid are reportedly considering legal action to block her explosive Sky documentary.
Still, Katie seems determined to let the music speak louder than the drama. Sharing a screenshot of her single priced at just 99p, she told fans: “Thank you so so much for all your support, honestly means the world to me.”
