Reality TV star Lauren Goodger has opened up about the news that her ex Mark Wright is expecting a baby with his wife Michelle Keegan.
Michelle, 37, announced her pregnancy in a joint post with her husband Mark, also 37, just after Christmas. The couple, who have been together since around 2013, teased in the post that this year is “going to be a special one” for them.
There has since been attention on his ex-fiancée Lauren, 38, with whom radio host Mark previously had a decade-long relationship. The former couple are said to have dreamt of a future together before parting ways for good in 2012.
Shortly after the news of Michelle’s pregnancy was revealed, it was reported that Lauren was “devasted” and there has since been further speculation about the the Only Way is Essex cast member. She has now addressed Mark’s announcement in a new interview with Closer magazine.
Lauren told the outlet that despite the rumours she is “happy” for Mark and she dismissed any suggestion that she’s “obsessed” with him over a decade on from their break-up. She said in the interview: “I’m not anxious, upset, or planning to leave Essex, and it didn’t ruin my Christmas!”
She acknowledged that fans may “always be fascinated” because her and Mark were on TV together, but then questioned why she would be “devastated” by the news. Lauren said: “I’m so happy he’s going to be a dad, I mean it.”

The former Dancing on Ice participant went on to remind that she’s had her own life to lead since separating from Mark, which has included becoming a parent herself. Lauren welcomed daughter Larose, now three, in 2021, and later daughter Lorena, who passed away shortly after her birth, in 2022, with a previous partner.
Lauren told the outlet: “It doesn’t affect my life whether Mark is having a baby, I’m not obsessed with him, my life will carry on.” She added that she was only speaking about the situation because of “all the s**t” she’s received recently.
She said that family and friends had even messaged her to ask if she was okay following Mark and Michelle’s announcement. Addressing such concern, Lauren said in the interview that she wishes Mark and his family well.
Mark and actor Michelle, who will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary this year, announced the news in a post on Instagram last month. The joint post gave fans a glimpse of Michelle’s baby bump, with it featuring a photo of the couple posing together whilst at a beach. The post was met with well wishes from both fans and celebrity pals on the platform at the time.
