Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez rejected a fight against Jake Paul at the last minute, to sign a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season. Many have described this as ‘saving boxing’, as the content creator is not well regarded in the boxing purist community.
The Mexican pride will fight in Saudi Arabia in May, where he will face William Scull, but his real challenge will be the possible fight against Terence Crawford in Las Vegas in September. The fight is not yet official, but it would seem that it is only a matter of time before it is confirmed.
Jake Paul’s latest stunt has fans calling it the most obvious fake yet
Not only did the connoisseurs appreciate that Canelo did not give a fight to Jake Paul, but also many boxers, in this case one was Shakur Stevenson, who yesterday in Riyadh, knocked out Josh Padley, to continue putting his name at the top of his division.

Shakur responded with absolute frankness on the subject. He indicated that although Canelo Alvarez would have received a considerable sum of money to face Jake Paul, in the end, his wallet was going to benefit anyway.

The Guadalajara native signed a two-year contract with Riyadh Season for four fights: one against William Scull in May, another against Terence Crawford in September and two more during 2025, including perhaps a rematch with Dmitry Bivol. These fights are more exciting for fans and financially more profitable than a matchup with The Problem Child.
