Gogglebox Star Sue Reveals She Can’t Smile Anymore – Husband Steve’s Unexpected Reaction Moves Nation
Fans of Channel 4’s Gogglebox were left stunned when Sue Sheehan bravely revealed on air that she’s been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, a condition that has left part of her face temporarily paralysed.

Known for her quick wit and lovable commentary alongside husband Steve, Sue opened up during a recent episode, explaining that she’s had to relearn how to speak and eat – but it’s her husband’s heartwarming support that truly stole the show.
In typical Gogglebox fashion, the moment was laced with humour, as Steve lovingly joked: “I’ll chew the food for you if I have to.” The light-hearted remark masked the weight of what Sue has been going through — and viewers were quick to take notice.
“She may not be able to smile,” one fan wrote on social media, “but Steve’s love says it all.”

The couple, both 65, have been a fan-favourite since joining the show in 2019, thanks to their undeniable chemistry and unfiltered honesty. But this latest reveal showed another side to them — resilience, devotion, and unwavering support.
“I can’t smile on that side, but I’m still smiling inside,” Sue shared, drawing praise for her bravery and humour in the face of adversity.
Thousands of fans have since taken to social media to offer encouragement, calling the Sheehans “an inspiration” and “the realest couple on TV.”
In a show built around watching others watch TV, Sue and Steve just reminded the nation what real love looks like — even when life doesn’t look the same anymore.
