According to reports, Meghan and Prince Harry’s hopes for a friendship with Kim Kardashian have been dashed.

In 2023, Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland was seen out and about with Kim’s mum, Kris Jenner. Their friendship came after they met at Ellen DeGeneres’ vow renewal service.

Doria and Kris’ friendship reportedly led to Meghan hoping a friendship would develop between herself, Harry, and Kim.

Kim is the most well-known of the Kardashian clan, thanks in part to her business ventures, TV show, and high-profile relationships.

The reality star, 44, is reportedly worth $1.7 billion and owns several companies, including Skims, KKW Fragrance, and KKW Beauty.

Kim Kardashian ‘doesn’t want to be associated with anyone controversial’

However, according to a source, Kim has no interest in being friends with the Sussexes – despite her mother’s close bond with Doria.

“As much as Kim respects her mum Kris’ choice to support them, she doesn’t want to be associated with anyone that’s controversial unless they really are a great benefit to her,” the source told Closer Magazine.

“As far as she can tell, there’s not much benefit to hanging out with the Sussexes,” they then added.

Prince Harry and Meghan lose famous friends

This isn’t the first famous figure who has seemingly turned their back on the Sussexes recently.

Reports have claimed over the past couple of years that Harry and Meghan have fallen out with David and Victoria Beckham following their move stateside.

Harry and David shared a close bond at one point, with the former football star even attending his wedding to Meghan in 2018.

However, according to royal commentator Richard Eden, Harry and Meghan’s “attacking” of the monarchy put the Beckhams off.

“David had always been an ardent royalist, who would stand up for the queen’s Speech every Christmas, dressed in his Sunday best. Years later, he queued for 12 hours to view the queen’s coffin when her body was lying in state,” he wrote in the Daily Mail last year.

“So it is, perhaps, no surprise that the Sussexes’ attacks on the royal family failed to impressed the Beckhams. Both David and Victoria put great importance on family and would never, ever turn on their relations the way that Harry and Meghan did,” he said.

Nowadays, David shares a close bond with Harry’s brother, Prince William.

David recently vowed to always be there for the Prince of Wales, who is reportedly estranged from his younger brother, as he called himself a big royalist.

George Clooney’s friendship with Meghan and Harry

The Sussexes have also reportedly become distanced from the Clooneys in recent years.

Harry, Meghan, George Clooney, and his wife, Amal, reportedly shared a tight bond up until 2023 when their friendship abruptly came to an end. In 2023, reports claimed that this was due to the Clooneys wanting to have a good relationship with the king instead.

“The Clooneys clearly want to be on good terms with the king and the royal family,” a source told the Mail.

Harry and Meghan’s friendship with Oprah now

Meghan and Harry’s bond with Oprah has reportedly fizzled out too. Oprah, of course, hosted the now-infamous interview with Harry and Meghan back in 2021.

However, reports claim that the 71-year-old doesn’t have much of a relationship with the Sussexes now.

When asked whether Harry should attend his father King Charles’ 2023 coronation, Oprah made it clear that she wasn’t in much contact with them.

“They haven’t asked me [for] my opinion. No they have not,” she said at the time.

However, in late 2024, Oprah called Meghan a “neighbour friend”. Although they haven’t fallen out it seems, are they not as close as they once were?
