Katie Piper’s Brave New Chapter: Eye Surgery After 17 Years – And Baby Number Three on the Horizon?

Katie Piper, the beloved TV presenter and acid attack survivor, has announced that she is finally preparing to receive an artificial eye — 17 years after the life-changing assault that left her partially blind. And in a heartwarming update, she’s also revealed that she and her husband, Richard Sutton, are hoping to welcome baby number three soon.

Katie, now 41, took to Instagram earlier this year to share the emotional news. She said the decision to get a prosthetic eye was “big and emotional,” but added that it gave her hope for the future.

“I’ve lived half my adult life with my eye like this. It’s not about vanity — it’s about healing and embracing change,” she wrote.

The announcement was met with an outpouring of love and admiration from fans, many of whom have followed her courageous journey since 2008, when she was horrifically attacked with acid.

In a follow-up interview, Katie admitted that a planned pregnancy in 2023 had to be put on hold due to a medical emergency involving her left eye. “I had to go under general anesthesia, and obviously that’s not ideal when trying for a baby,” she explained.

Now, with her eye condition stabilized and a new chapter ahead, Katie says she and Richard are feeling hopeful. “We’ve always wanted a bigger family. Now that I’m taking this step for myself, maybe it’s time,” she hinted.

The prospect of a third baby — alongside daughters Belle and Penelope — has thrilled fans, many calling Katie a “symbol of strength, hope, and second chances.”
