Patrick Mahomes’ college GPA has become a topic of conversation again ahead of Super Bowl 59.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is obviously a stud on the football field, and he was just as excellent in the classroom.

Mahomes showed signs of greatness at Texas Tech, registering a pass completion percentage of 63.5 percent, throwing for 4,653 yards, 36 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions in his first full season as a starter. He improved to 5,052 yards and 41 touchdowns the following term.

NFL scouts were impressed with the Texas native, and so were his professors. According to Tyler Today, the QB boasted a GPA of 3.91 at the university.

“I admit I am a proud mom,” his mother, Randi Mahomes, was quoted as saying. “I am very proud of his athletic achievements. However, I am more proud of his scholastic achievements.”

Patrick Mahomes Missed Out On His Degree

Britannica notes that Mahomes majored in marketing but didn’t get his degree after skipping his senior year to enter the NFL Draft.

The decision clearly paid off.

The Chiefs quarterback is now looking to win his fourth Super Bowl at the age of just 29. Should he do that next Sunday, it would mark the first NFL three-peat of the modern era.
