Shocking moment former WWE champion takes off gloves and joins in on boxing brawl

The Ring Royale 2026 event descended into chaos, with the former WWE star joining in on the wild in-ring melee.

Former WWE champion Alberto Del Rio removed his gloves and got involved in a brawl in a shocking moment during his boxing fight at the Ring Royale event.

Del Rio competed in his native Mexico at the Arena Monterrey as part of a celebrity and influencer boxing show put on by media personality Poncho De Nigris which was streamed live on YouTube.

The 48-year-old, who now goes by Alberto El Patron, squared off against Chuy Almada – a Mexican fitness influencer and boxing content creator.

The two had gone back and forth online in the build-up and then finally locked horns inside the squared circle.

It was Del Rio’s boxing debut and both men had to wear headguards. But all hell broke loose in the second round when Del Rio went towards his corner and seemingly gave the invitation for one of his associates to get in the ring.

In a matter of seconds, the ring was filled with members of both camps going out at, with the referee absolutely powerless to stop the fighting.

Alberto Del Rio was boxing on Youtube when his fight suddenly turned into a brawl he then took his gloves off and joined the altercation himself😭

Both fighters were kept away from the fracas at first and leaned on the rings. But then suddenly Del Rio had his gloves taken off by one of his team and removed his headguard off before involving himself in the wild melee.

Almada ended up picking up the decision victory thanks to the judges. Sean Ross Sapp, a leading wrestling journalist claimed that Del Rio “was getting smoked and was exhausted in under two rounds and clearly nodded at his corner to do the planned attack”, while others online wondered whether the incident was real.

Del Rio had two spells in WWE, first signing in 2009 and winning both the WWE and world heavyweight championships.

The Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank winner left in 2014 and won the US title on two occasions in his second stint just over a year later.

With his amateur wrestling background, Del Rio fought regularly in MMA in Japan and Mexico.

In 2019, he returned to face former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz in a losing after being submitted via rear naked choke in the catchweight bout.

Former NBA and NFL cheerleader reveals contract clause which can’t be broken

Maxxine Dupri performed as a cheerleader in both the NBA and the NFL and lifted the lid on the strict contract clause.

A former NBA and NFL cheerleader who transitioned into a WWE superstar has revealed the strict contract clause she and others in the role must not break.

Maxxine Dupri, real name Sydney Zmrzel Luke, earned a contract with WWE after impressing at a tryout in Las Vegas.

She has since gone on to become a member of the WWE main roster and captured the Women’s Intercontinental champion with a win over Becky Lynch in November.

But before her WWE exploits, Dupri worked as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams as well as the Phoenix Suns NBA franchise.

She would be tasked with dancing on the turf and court on gamedays but with the Rams, officials were adamant that they could not ignite any type of dating rumours and had to be careful in any media activities.

Speaking on the IMPAULSIVE podcast with fellow WWE superstar Logan Paul, Dupri said: “We had media training on if someone asks you who your favorite player is. They don’t want you to say like ‘Todd Guerhly’ because then people are going to be like, ‘Oh she is dating Todd Guerhly'”.

Dupri added that she “loved” the job bit did admit that there was a specific rule that she and her peers had to follow.

Paul asked the 28-year-old if any of the players would say hello to her and that led to Dupri opening up about being forbidden from socialising with the players as per the terms of her deal.

“Not to me, no,” Dupri admitted.

“I’ve been with my husband. I, you know, my friends had friends. There were times in the tunnel and the other team’s water boy would come over and be like ‘so and so is throwing a party’

“That’s against our contract. You can’t go to those parties. You can’t fraternize with the players for NFL or NBA.”

Dupri is happily married to WWE superstar Anthony Luke but she did concede that not all cheerleaders followed the rule to the letter of the law.

Camille Kostek met iconic tight-end and four-time Super Bowl winner Rob Gronkowski in 2013 when she was a cheerleader with the New England Patriots and the couple have been dating for more than a decade.

Though they eventually went public, the relationship was a secret one during her stint as a cheerleader.

“Ok, so Camille is a great example but they kept it a secret while she was a cheerleader,” Dupri stated.

“On Rams, if someone found out you’d be off the team. Suns was a little more lax.

“The Rams love everyone that works for them. We were treated so well, you couldn’t leave the locker room without a security guard. The Suns did not know they had a dance team.”
