Kelce finished his 12th professional season in the NFL this year, and teased his retirement could be coming after the Super Bowl.
He said the this season in particular had “driven him crazy.”
Kelce has already begun to set himself up for a career outside of football, and that has included a venture into Hollywood.
He was recently an executive producer on the movie My Dead Friend Zoe, and said working on it was “an incredible experience.”
In a statement to PEOPLE, he said his “hope is to continue working on meaningful projects like this – stories that entertain, inspire and make a real impact.”
Travis Kelce also recently made his acting debut in the FX show Grotesquerie and hosted the game show Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?
While Kelce has the opportunity to continue his Hollywood career, he isn’t certain that he is done with football yet.
The legendary tight end is going to take some time to discuss his retirement decision with Taylor Swift and his family.
I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m kicking every can I can down the road,” he said on the New Heights podcast.
“I’m not making any crazy decisions [yet].

“Right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing.”
Kelce cited the wear and tear of going deep into the playoffs every year as something that could cause him to call it quits early.
“The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and these Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games than everybody else in the entire league,” he said.
“That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body and it’s a lot of time spent in the building, focusing on your craft, focusing on the task at hand, every challenge that you set up for yourself.
“That process can be grueling, it can weigh on you.

Kelce has reportedly been given a March 14 deadline by the Chiefs to decide whether or not he wants to retire.
He is owed a roster bonus on that day worth a significant amount of money.
If he decides to retire, the Chiefs won’t have to pay him that money and can allocate it towards other players.
