Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have put King Charles in a difficult position this week as a result of the ongoing Royal Lodge saga. While it is believed Andrew, 65, and Sarah, 66, have succumbed to public pressure to vacate the 30-room royal mansion they occupy, they will not be moving until they have a new home lined up.
This has led to them putting in what has been considered an unfair demand to the King, as Andrew and Sarah – who have both been involved in scandals surrounding their previous associations with Jeffrey Epstein – reportedly want two Crown Estate homes. This is so they can have one each rather than live together, something they have done happily for many years despite being divorced for the last 29 years.
As Sarah and Andrew are not working royals, eyebrows have been raised since news of such a demand broke, especially as the King has no responsibility to provide Sarah with a home.

However, one royal expert believes there is one reason why the King, 76, wants to keep her happy.
Royal expert Rebecca English wrote for the Daily Mail that the monarch wants to keep Sarah happy so she doesn’t consider writing a tell-all book about the Firm.
This is an action his son Prince Harry took when he published his bombshell memoir Spare in 2023.
A source told Ms English: “The King is a kind man but his patience has been pushed to the limit. However, the last thing he also wants is another ‘Spare’ [the vitriolic memoir brought out by his own son, Prince Harry, in 2023].”

While there are concerns Sarah could write a memoir, Prince Andrew has reportedly promised his brother he would not do this.
A source described as an insider told The Sun on Sunday: “Andrew won’t write a book like Spare.”
The Royal Family are yet to comment on the Royal Lodge saga, however it is believed Andrew wants Frogmore Cottage, while Sarah has her eyes on Adelaide Cottage.
Although they have not commented on why they want separate homes, a source revealed to The Sun that Andrew and Sarah want a “break” from one another.
