Rob Brydon has revealed his catastrophic Destination X blunder that almost ruined whole competition.
The TV star, 60, is at the helm of the BBC’s game show in which contestants travel to an undisclosed location in a bid to win £100,000.
If the player guesses furthest away from where they actually are, they lose their place in the competition and have to rely on various clues dished out to them. But just hours ahead of the final airing on Thursday evening, Rob appeared on This Morning alongside hosts Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson.

Whilst sat on the sofa, he admitted that during filming he almost ruined the whole thing whilst innocently chatting to a member of the crew. He said: “I won’t say where, we were on a hillside. The danger was a crew member might have a coffee cup with the local name on it.
“And I said ‘Oh I can’t get wait to so and so’ and I looked round and there was a contestant just over there!”
In the end, Rob was sure that the contestant had not heard his slip up as it transpired he had guessed that they were in fact in a completely different place to the one he had mentioned, although it remained a concern for all crew members across the course of filming the series.
He said: “But I know they didn’t hear me because that night they put their X somewhere different. But all of us were terrified of giving the game away at some point!”
Rob is also known for his role as Bryn West on the sitcom Gavin and Stacey, which dominated the Christmas ratings last year when its highly-anticipated finale series aired and he momentarily slipped back into his alter-ego to describe why he wouldn’t want to take part in the series himself.

He said: “I wouldn’t like it, Rylan. And I’ll tell you for why. I imagine it would be Dave’s Coaches driving and he and I have got some beef, we did slightly bond in the end to try and find Ness but nonetheless, I wouldn’t like having the windows blacked out.
“The only thing that would make it bearable is if they played James Blunt the whole time!”
The final will see the competitors put to the test as old clues resurface, and old rivalries heating up. The BBC have confirmed a dramatic final ahead, as a monstrous first challenge will see some players given an advantage in the race to the final Destination X.
Josh, Saskia and Judith will face a nail-biting race around one of Europe’s most iconic cities – but the show has teased that “not everything you see can be believed.”
The three contestants will be battling it out on Thursday night – but who will take the crown?
