ITV star Lorraine Kelly found herself in an unexpected storm of fury after presenting her self-titled afternoon talk show. During Wednesday’s (November 12) episode, the 65-year-old covered trending topics and current controversies, including Olympian Adam Peaty, 30, who is getting married to Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly, 25, and has allegedly opted to ban his mother, Caroline, from the wedding. Weighing in on the complicated family feud, Lorraine had her say and advised the competitive swimmer to put all grievances aside and include Caroline in the upcoming wedding.
Looking directly at the camera, the presenter said: “Adam, if you’re watching, pick up the phone to your mum. Forget about all of the stuff that’s in the papers, forget about all the rest of the relatives, you and your mum have to sit down and work that out,” Lorraine added. She continued: “You cannot, I don’t think, you’ll regret it if you get married and your mum’s not there.” However, as the clip from Lorraine swept the internet, the mum of one was quickly inundated with backlash for offering unsolicited advice.

Many fumed that it wasn’t her place to address Adam, as she didn’t know the family dynamics or what had taken place behind closed doors.
Taking to the comments, one viewer raged: “Lorraine needs to keep her nose out. There are reasons, and they are his to stand by.”
As another echoed: “How dare Lorraine say that … she doesn’t know what has gone on … how does she know he will regret it? Not all parents are nice.”
“Lorraine, if you’re watching. Stay out of it. Just saying,” instructed another. A fourth added: “It’s none of her business two sides and also he’s not going to listen to her … just saying.”
While one fumed: “Omg, who is she to say that, just because someone is a mother doesn’t mean they’re going to be a good mother, some mothers shouldn’t be mothers, some mothers are abusive.”
“Interfering when not needed, why do people think it’s ok to do this?” said another.
As Adam and Holly’s upcoming wedding sparked major discussion, rumours and speculation, the athlete chose to amp up his security after he was met with death threats.
The Olympic star was escorted by armed police as he walked through Manchester Airport for his stag do in Budapest.
Fearing he would be met with physical violence, Adam was joined by five ununiformed officers who took him through passport control, the baggage area, the arrivals hall and eventually into a waiting vehicle.
