Taylor Swift makes major decision over playing Super Bowl halftime show after Kendrick Lamar NFL apology

Swift can reportedly play the halftime show whenever she wants

WHILE the NFL is desperate to have Taylor Swift perform at the Super Bowl, she has no interest in playing for the time being.

Until Travis Kelce retires from the NFL, fans shouldn’t expect to see Swift on the big stage.

Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show this year left many fans divided, with some considering it the worst ever.

Because of this, the NFL is looking to put on a special show to make things up to fans.

The performer at the top of their list is none other than Taylor Swift.

While the league and fans alike are dying to see Swift play the Super Bowl halftime show, she won’t do it until her boyfriend is out of the league.

“She doesn’t want to do it now until Travis is fully retired as she would like to be at the game supporting him rather than performing at it,” a source close to Swift told DailyMail.com.

“When she eventually performs at it, she wants all her loved ones to be able to experience it.

“And as long as Travis is in the league, the Chiefs have a chance to be in the game, so she is going to wait to do it till he is officially done.”

The source claimed that Swift never performed the halftime show before because of it being prominently sponsored by Pepsi.

Swift has a long-standing partnership with Coke and couldn’t appear in an event sponsored by its biggest rivals.

However, the sponsor of the halftime show switched to Apple in 2022, making it possible for her to perform in the future.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s ‘Romeo and Juliet balcony scene’ was just one ‘signal of misery’ during Super Bowl
“If Pepsi wasn’t the sponsor of the halftime show for so many years, then Taylor Swift would have potentially already been the performer,” the source continued.

“But she has had a long-standing partnership with Coke and sponsorship with them, so that was one glaring reason she was never able to do it.”

There haven’t been any talks between Swift and the league just yet, but it is believed that Jay Z’s Roc Nation, the company that oversees the halftime show, would allow Swift to play the gig whenever she wants.

“Taylor is and always will be considered. And if she wants to do it, she will get the gig,” the source said.

“The NFL and Jay are throwing other names out there and they will have someone confirmed on their side of things this summer and then announce it in the start of next season or at the latest Thanksgiving.

NFL important dates 2025 season

March 12 – Free Agency begins

April 24-26 – NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin

September 4 – 2025 season opener (TBC vs Eagles)

November 27 – Thanksgiving Day triple header

January 4, 2026 – End of regular-season

February 8, 2026 – Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California

“Taylor is not in talks but is always a phone call away because the NFL knows they would be stupid if they didn’t at least entertain the fact to her that she should do it.

“They will continue to have their feelers out there and if she wanted to do it, again she would absolutely get it.”

Kelce is currently debating if he wants to retire from the league during this offseason.

He had the worst year of his career in 2024 and suffered a devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.

The legendary tight end could decide to call it quits after 12 years in the league.
