One of the most exciting boxing matches of the year is the showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, two of the greatest fighters of this era. However, Jake Paul doesn’t seem impressed. While the boxing world is buzzing, Paul took a shot at Crawford, mocking his lack of mainstream popularity.
During the post-fight presser, Jake Paul shared his blunt thoughts on the upcoming Alvarez-Crawford clash in September. He claimed that most people don’t even know who Crawford is and sarcastically added that his mother has more Instagram followers.
“No one really knows who Crawford is, to be honest. I think my mom has more followers than him on Instagram, I’m not even kidding,” he said.
In reality, Paul’s jab at Crawford may have grabbed attention, but it wasn’t grounded. The numbers tell a different story. ‘Bud has over 1.8 million followers, far more than Paul’s mother, who sits at around 429k. The dig was brutal, typical of Paul’s trash talk style, but it didn’t reflect the numbers.
