“They Just Don’t Last…” – Kaye Adams Spills the One Red Flag That Gets Loose Women Panellists Dropped

Loose Women veteran Kaye Adams has revealed the one unspoken rule every newcomer must follow if they want to last on the hit daytime talk show — and it’s surprisingly simple: you have to be willing to share.

Speaking on Emily Dean’s Walking The Dog podcast, Kaye — a founding member of the Loose Women panel — opened up about what makes or breaks new recruits. With nearly 70 presenters passing through the show over 25 years, Kaye admits that the ones who insist on keeping their private lives off-limits don’t stick around for long.

“There’ve been a few who come in and say, ‘I can’t talk about this, I won’t go there,’” Kaye said. “And the rest of us are just sitting there thinking, ‘Well, you’re not going to last!’”

Known for her thoughtful candour, Kaye also acknowledged how sharing openly comes with consequences. She reflected on her own experiences, particularly about becoming a mother at 39, and how that honesty once backfired when her daughter Charley came across a quote years later and questioned her about it.

“I did regret that for a while,” she admitted. “But it was the truth.” With her daughter now 22 and off to university, Kaye revealed the emotional challenge of having both children flown the nest, joking: “The place is too tidy, we’ve got too much milk in the fridge — I don’t know how we’re going to stop the milk order.”

Kaye also warned that panellists who have strong opinions behind the scenes but play it safe on air don’t last either: “If you’re not going to be honest with the audience, this show will eat you alive.”

Her comments come amid ongoing speculation about future shake-ups on the panel, but if anyone knows how to survive the Loose Women sofa, it’s Kaye Adams — and her message is clear: be real or be gone.
