To the surprise of many, Taylor Swift did not make the trip to São Paulo, Brazil, to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs against the Los Angeles Chargers in their season opener.

After two years of dating, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement in an Instagram post on Aug. 26. Their highly publicized romance has brought plenty more attention toward the NFL, with Swift attending most Chiefs’ games over the last two years.
But Swift is not among the many special guests at Arena Corinthians for the Chiefs’ season opener, and the reason why is understandable.
According to a report from TMZ, none of the other WAGS (wives and girlfriends) of Chiefs players made the commute to Brazil, so Swift apparently decided not to go either. Sources also told the outlet that the lengthy commute left the families with limited time to enjoy the getaway:
“Sources tell TMZ … it’s not a shocker Taylor skipped the international game … since none of the WAGs made the trip. It’s just a 2-day jaunt leaving no time for the fams to intermingle. Plus, it’s safe to assume security for Taylor played a role in the decision-making.”
The Chiefs will welcome the Philadelphia Eagles in a Super Bowl 59 rematch on Sept. 14 at Arrowhead Stadium. Taylor Swift will presumably be there to cheer on Kelce and the Chiefs as they look to cook up a dish of revenge.
