The Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly snubbed an invitation to the White House following their Super Bowl victory.
The U.S. Sun had social media buzzing after they essentially published a weeks-old report asserting that the Eagles would not be accepting a potential White House invitation following their win in Super Bowl LIX, citing “a well-placed insider” calling it a “massive no.”
“We focus on the game for now, but if we win the Super Bowl, we wouldn’t go to the White House,” a member of the ownership group told The Sun.
It turns out that the report about the Philadelphia Eagles was initially published days before the Super Bowl was set to be played.
“I just want to win Sunday,” owner Jeffrey Lurie said at the time.
According to a new report from Front Office Sports, the Eagles have apparently changed their mind about the visit.
Front Office Sports insiders Michael McCarthy and Alex Schiffer reported hours later that the team hasn’t even received a White House invitation.

Should they get it, they are actually leaning toward accepting.
The Eagles have not had a chance to skip an Oval Office visit because an official invitation has not been sent yet, sources tell Front Office Sports. A source close to the NFL foresees the Eagles “accepting” a Trump invite once it’s made.

The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly declined to visit President Donald Trump at the White House, but new reports state they plan on changing their minds.
Should they do that, it would be the first time the Eagles have been to the White House, even though the franchise has now won two Super Bowls.
The 2018 Philadelphia Eagles did not visit the White House following a Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots. Donald Trump was in office at that time as well.

Jalen Hurts and his Philadelphia Eagles teammates have reportedly turned down the opportunity to celebrate their Super Bowl at the White House.
After the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9, one question remained unanswered, but it appears we now know that the Eagles do not desire to see President Donald Trump.
The Philadelphia Eagles decided to skip the White House visit.
“A source at the Eagles, who spoke anonymously, stressed that conversations about refusing a visit with President Donald Trump after beating the Kansas City Chiefs have already occurred,” the outlet reported.
The U.S. Sun said the response was a massive no.

During the Super Bowl LIX media day, Hurts was asked how he felt about Trump attending the game.
“He’s welcome to do what he wants,” Hurts said to reporters.
That was vastly different from what Travis Kelce stated when he responded, “It’s awesome. It’s a great honor.”
His comments shouldn’t be too shocking since President Donald Trump backed the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.

President Donald Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to attend a Super Bowl, and the stars playing in the game were fully aware of his attendance.
“He’s welcome to do what he wants,” Hurts said when asked about the President.
When the Eagles quarterback was asked a follow-up question about whether Trump’s presence would put more pressure on him, the quarterback responded, “No.”
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named MVP of Super Bowl LIX following a 40-22 victory over the Chiefs.
Hurts passed for 221 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.3 percent of his passes. He also used his feet to rush for 72 yards and one touchdown.
