The news of Kyren Lacy taking his own life hit Dak Prescott really hard.

The former LSU wide receiver passed away at 24 years old. He was found dead Saturday night in Houston. Multiple reports indicate his d3ath is a suspected suicide.

In January, Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with d3ath, and reckless operation of a vehicle. He was just 48 hours from facing a grand jury over that case.

Just after the accident, Lacy had declared for the NFL Draft following a season with 58 catches, 866 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns.

Dak Prescott had an apparent reaction to the news on Sunday morning, sending a message about suicide prevention through an Instagram story.

“Please!!! Ask 4 help,” Prescott posted. “It doesn’t have to end that way! It takes all of US!”

“According to Harris County authorities, police responded to a call from a female family member who said Lacy had discharged a firearm into the ground during a verbal argument late Saturday night,” ESPN wrote. “When they arrived on the scene, they learned that the suspect, Lacy, had fled in a vehicle.”

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been very vocal in the mental health space. He lost his brother to suicide and has been an advocate for others to seek help.

The world woke up to the tragic news over the weekend that former Louisiana State Wide receiver Kyren Lacy died in an apparent suicide in his car while being pursued by authorities.

Prescott’s brother, Jace Prescott, died at 31 years old.

The Cowboys quarterback discussed his brother’s d3ath in 2020 and revealed that the cause of d3ath was suicide.

Prescott and his brother Tad stated that their mother’s colon cancer took a heavy toll on Jace. Peggy Prescott died after a long battle with the disease in 2013.

Jace reportedly spent daily time with her as the cancer progressed and ravaged her body while Dak was in college at Mississippi State at the time.

Cowboys & Steelers Agree To Massive Draft Day Deal Involving Dak Prescott & T.J. Watt In Latest Blockbuster Trade Proposal That’s Gaining Major Buzz Online

A massive trade proposal has the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys agreeing to a blockbuster transaction involving T.J. Watt and Dak Prescott that would turn the 2025 NFL Draft upside down.

Earlier this week, T.J. Watt fueled trade rumors when he posted a photo of himself flashing the “peace” sign on his Instagram story. The 30-year-old is entering the last season of a four-year, $112 million extension he signed in 2021.

Watt hasn’t publicly indicated that he wants to leave, nor have the Steelers hinted at wanting to move on from him. But if the future Hall of Famer isn’t keen on signing an extension, Pittsburgh GM Omar Khan has to consider shopping his franchise player.

Former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert proposed a blockbuster trade idea in which the Steelers would trade T.J. Watt and the No. 21 pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for Dak Prescott and the No. 12 pick.

Benkert opines that Dallas should see what Joe Milton III could do as the starting quarterback after coming over via trade with the New England Patriots.

The Steelers don’t have a suitable option at quarterback right now, though that could change if they ever finalize a deal with Aaron Rodgers. Otherwise, making a move for a Pro Bowl quarterback like Dak Prescott could help them re-emerge as title contenders.

Steelers Would Have To Give Up Much More Than T.J. Watt For Dak Prescott

With all due respect to Benkert, it doesn’t make sense for Dallas to give Prescott AND the higher first-round pick in the class. If Pittsburgh and Dallas discussed a trade involving Watt and Prescott, it would have to include much more than what Benkert proposed.

As great as T.J. Watt is, a top-10 quarterback moves the needle more than an elite edge rusher in today’s NFL, after all.
