Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans came under fire over the weekend for an ‘inappropriate’ s3xual comment in front of his co-stars, and now Katya Jones has spoken out
Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has made her feelings clear following Wynne Evans’ latest scandal.
Wynne Evans is currently on the Strictly Come Dancing tour alongside a number of his co-stars and has now been reprimanded by BBC bosses following his comment. He was caught on camera at a photocall event during the launch in Birmingham.
In a clip, Wynne was heard referring to a lewd s3xual act and using the words “spit roast” after he was stood between professional dancer and host Janette Manrara and another star. When he makes the ‘joke’, awkward laughter could be heard, whilst the singer smirks to himself, with Wynne since apologising for his comments.
In a statement to the Mirror, Wynne Evans said: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise.” A spokesperson for the Strictly Live Tour and BBC Studios added: “We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.”

Following the revelation, Katya seemingly backed Wynne as she shared a snap from some pictures posted by Tasha Ghouri. In the photo, Wynne can be seen posing with Tasha, Katya and Jamie Borthwick, alongside the caption: “Tour fam [heart emoji].”
Katya has been a huge support to Wynne after he previously hit the headlines for putting his hand on the waist of the professional dancer. She was seen moving his hand away, but later insisted she wasn’t uncomfortable.
Speaking on It Takes Two, she said at the time: “Sorry Fleur [East], sorry, I will get onto dancing I promise but can I please first get something out of the way that I feel like overshadowed our performance for absolutely no reason and quite frankly, actually, I can’t bare sitting here watching this man [Wynne] being portrayed as someone he’s not.
“In fact, it couldn’t be further away from the truth so I have to make this absolutely clear that this whole incident with the hand and the high five on Saturday night it was an inside joke between Wynne and I. Was it a silly joke? Yes! Was it a bad joke? Yes!” At this point Wynne interjected with: “Yeah and I’ve watched it back, I can see how people may have misinterpreted it. Yeah but however, it was a joke and even the idea that it made me feel ‘uncomfortable’ or ‘offended’ in anyway is total nonsense. Those that have doubts, you guys have it got wrong! So hopefully this will be the end of it. You [Wynne] just keep making me smile, please!”
