President Donald Trump has given a final verdict on whether the Super Bowl 59 champion Philadelphia Eagles will receive an invitation to the White House.
Over the past 48 hours, there have been conflicting reports about the Eagles already deciding on visiting the White House if they’re extended an invitation. A report from The U.S. Sun claimed that they decided “no” before Super Bowl 59, with subsequent reports stating that they’d be happy to attend.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday, Donald Trump confirmed that the Eagles will receive an invitation, even asking one of his staffers to get on it as soon as possible.
“They will be (invited). We haven’t yet, but we will be. I thought it was a great performance by them. Absolutely, they’ll be extended an invitation, would you do that right away? (to one of his is staffers). We’ll do it right away, we’re gonna do it some time today. They deserve to be down here, and we hope to see them.”
So there you have it.
The President of the United States usually invites championship-winning teams from the NCAA and top North American professional sports leagues to the White House. But Trump rescinded invitations for the 2017 NBA champion Golden State Warriors and Super Bowl 52 champion Philadelphia Eagles, after several players and staffers publicly revealed that they wouldn’t accept his offer.

The only Eagles players remaining from that Super Bowl 52 championship team are Brandon Graham, Jake Elliott, Rick Lovato and Lane Johnson. And of course, owner Jeffrey Lurie (a vocal Trump critic) and GM Howie Roseman are still running the show.

Trump spoke with Bret Baier of Fox News before Super Bowl 59 between the Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. In the interview, Trump predicted that Patrick Mahomes would lead Kansas City to victory.
Of course, the Eagles had other ideas as they crushed KC on both sides of the ball in a 40-22 blowout victory. The Eagles clinched their second Super Bowl in eight seasons while denying Kansas City of the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat.

President Donald Trump has social media buzzing again after bringing up the idea of serving a third term in the White House.
The 22nd Amendment in the United States Constitution outlines that no president can serve more than two terms. Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 election to secure a second term in office, meaning the American people will have to vote for a new president in 2028.
Section 1 of the 22nd Amendment begins with the following sentence:
“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”
Speaking at a Black History Month event on Thursday, Donald Trump asked folks in attendance if he should run again in the 2028 election.
“Should I run again? You tell me,” Trump said. “There’s your controversy right there,” followed by “Four more years” chants from the crowd.

Social media had all sorts of priceless reactions to Donald Trump’s comments about a third presidential term that simply isn’t possible:
“Pretty sure its joke…,” one user opined.
“This is going to be fun,” wrote another.
“The man is toying with you, don’t take the bate,” a user quipped.
“Is that true?” Wait. Let me check. Yeah. That’s true,” wrote another.
“Well if he can so can Obama,” a user said.
“He can run. He could even win. He can’t be sworn in,” wrote another.
Canada Has Different Rules Than The U.S.

Up north in Canada, there is no term limit for the Prime Minister. Justin Trudeau, who announced his resignation in January, has won three elections and took office in Nov. 2015 after defeating Stephen Harper.
But like the three presidents before Trump’s first term (Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama), he will be limited to two terms in the White House. Of course, there’s a strong chance that Vice President J.D. Vance will seek the presidential chair in the 2028 election.
