Former NFL player LeShon Eugene Johnson is in some serious trouble once again.

The Haskell-native is facing dog fighting related charges again for the second time in his life. He has been charged in federal court for operating a “large-scale” dog fighting and trafficking operation in Broken Arrow.

The U.S. Department of Justice said Leshon Eugene Johnson appeared in court last week and was charged with possession of 190 pit bull dogs used for an “animal fighting venture and for selling, transporting, and delivering a dog for use in an animal fighting venture.”

He was indicted by a grand jury in the Eastern District of Oklahoma for violations of dog fighting prohibitions of the federal Animal Welfare Act.

The DOJ said federal authorities seized 190 dogs from Johnson in October 2024 as this is believed to be the most dogs ever seized from a single person in a federal dog fighting case.

Johnson stands accused of running a dog fighting operation called “Mal Kant Kennels” in Broken Arrow and Haskell.

He previously ran Krazyside Kennels, which led to his 2004 guilty plea on state animal fighting charges.

If convicted, LeShon Eugene Johnson faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count.

He made headlines for his arrest on serious charges and ties to the Rollin’ 60s Crips in LA recently. However, it’s his connection with the Los Angeles Chargers that’s getting eyeballs.

Big U is arrested on RICO charges, which include murder, extortion, human trafficking, and fraud.

Known for mentoring the late Nipsey Hussle, Big U’s influence extended beyond the streets. But his legal troubles have cast a shadow over his legacy. Alongside him, 18 other gang members were taken into custody, highlighting the scale of the federal investigation into their activities.

After his arrest on Wednesday, Eugene Henley Jr., also known as Big U, appeared in court on March 22, 2025, facing serious allegations on RICO charges.

Henley had recently posted a video declaring his innocence prior to surrendering to federal authorities. According to him, he is innocent and he was just trying to help his community.

“This the price of being Black and trying to help somebody, trying to help your community and do what you can. You just guilty because somebody else don’t like you,” Big U said in the video, as per AP News.

Following his court appearance, he will remain in custody until his detention hearing on March 31.

Moreover, Henley is believed to have orchestrated a criminal operation referred to as the “Big U Enterprise.” Prosecutors allege he misappropriated donations from Developing Options, an anti-gang charity he founded, and exploited it to cover up illicit activities.

Furthermore, he is also suspected of involvement in the 2021 murder of an aspiring rap musician associated with his record label, Uneek Music. If convicted, Henley faces a potential life sentence in federal prison.
