Deion Sanders’ reaction to his son, Shedeur Sanders, getting snubbed in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night said it all.
The former superstar cornerback and his family endured a rough night, with neither of Coach Prime’s sons being drafted.
While SHilo was not expected to be a first-round pick, Shedeur was projected to go pretty early, with the New Orleans Saints tipped to take him at No. 9 overall after Cam Ward came off the board at No. 1, going to the Tennessee Titans.
Shockingly enough, the Saints chose an offensive tackle, selecting Kelvin Banks Jr. out of Texas despite their deficiency at quarterback, given Derek Carr’s injury.

“I’m not so sure teams don’t want Shedeur. I think they don’t want to draft Dion! [sic]” said another.

The Colorado Buffaloes head coach had previously declared that he would control where his sons would go, but the choice was out of his hands on Thursday, with all 32 teams passing on Shedeur.
The Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants had the opportunity after the Saints passed on him, but chose to draft otherwise. The QB is likely to come off the board this Friday, with the second round scheduled for tonight.

Deion Sanders fell victim to hubris on Thursday night as he did not see any of his sons get drafted.
While Shilo Sanders was not expected to be a first-round pick, Shedeur Sanders certainly was. And things appeared extremely bleak after the New York Giants traded back into the first round, having initially gone for Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall, to select Jaxson Dart at No. 25.
The first round ended without Shedeur hearing his name following some extraordinary preparation, including expensive jewelry and a custom draft room. And his father is looking a bit silly on X, nearly a year after making a bold claim.
Coach Prime declared his son would be a top-five pick last May..
“He will be a top 5 pick. Where yo son going ? Lololol I got time today. Lololol,” he told a fan who suggested Shedeur should tone it down after Colorado’s 4-8 finish..

Social media wasted no time returning to the tweet to Community Note it after the quarterback slipped out of the first round.
“Shedeur Sanders was not a top 5 draft pick,” the note reads.
“Community notes getting violent out there these days,” a fan joked.
“😭how they massacred my boy,” another quipped.
“This aged well I see!!” said a third.
“Humility is an endearing quality. The opposite is not,” a comment read.
Following Thursday’s surprising turn of events, Shedeur will likely be a second-day selection. He will have to wait a bit before learning his football future.
