A British Airways flight BA35, operated using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, is making headlines mere days after another Dreamliner crashed and killed over 200 people in India.
The airliner made a precautionary return to London Heathrow Airport after experiencing a technical issue en route to Chennai.
The 787-8 circled for an hour to dump fuel before landing safely at London’s Heathrow Airport.
Flight BA35 had departed from London’s Heathrow Airport more than 30 minutes behind schedule en route to Chennai, India, with 214 passengers on board.
However, shortly after takeoff, the pilots noticed a problem with the aircraft’s wing flaps and decided to turn the plane around as a precaution.

A British Airways flight from Heathrow to India had to turn around mid-air when it suffered a “technical issue.”
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner circled over the strait of Dover to dump fuel before safely landing back on the runway.
It comes days after the airline’s Flight AI171 to London Gatwick – using the same type of Boeing aircraft – crashed in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad.
A British Airways spokesperson told Business Insider: “The aircraft returned to Heathrow as a standard precaution after reports of a technical issue.
The airline emphasized that this was not classified as an emergency landing.
