Kanye West has been diagnosed with autism. The rapper made the announcement after being criticized for dressing his wife in a nude outfit on the 2025 Grammy red carpet.

Kanye West revealed that his wife, Bianca Censori, suggested he get tested.

“She said there was something about my personality that didn’t seem bipolar. She’d met people with bipolar before. I listened to her, went back to the doctor and got diagnosed with autism,” the singer and fashion brand founder shared.

Kanye West said the diagnosis helped him better understand some of his behavior over the years.

“Autism makes you do things that are different from everyone else. You wear a Trump hat because you like Trump. And then when people tell you not to do it, you do it anyway. And that’s my problem. When fans tell me to do my album the way they want, I do it the opposite way,” Kanye added.

In 2020, Kim Kardashian (Kanye West’s ex-wife) also acknowledged the rapper’s difficulties in managing his mental health.

She shared: “People who understand mental illness know that the family is helpless unless the member is a minor. People who don’t know can be judgmental and not understand that the individual needs help.”

Kanye West himself has mentioned his bipolar disorder in his music products. The famous star admitted that he often felt out of control. That led to the collapse of Kanye West’s deal with the fashion brand Adidas.

On the red carpet, the singer’s wife shocked everyone when she took off her jacket to reveal a see-through outfit. Kanye West also thanked Vogue magazine for praising his wife’s outfit. In an article on February 4, Vogue writer Raven Smith commented that Bianca Censori’s dress was like a statement that women can wear whatever they want. “Let’s not jump to conclusions just because we’re uncomfortable seeing her like that,” wrote Raven Smith.

Bianca’s actions also put her family in the public eye. Recently, the architect’s mother, who lives in Australia, spoke up: “We are just normal people, living our lives as privately as possible. I have nothing to say about Bianca, thank you.”

Bianca’s mother once expressed disappointment and concern when her daughter was influenced by her husband, dressed sexily, and sometimes received offensive comments.
